The hood of my '69 is not level with the passenger side fender and wiper door at the upper passenger side corner.
It's too high by about a half inch. Then too low by the same amount at the front corner on the drivers side.
How do I go about adjusting the level of the hood so that it's flush in these areas?

Try taking a large screw driver and channel locks and turn the guide pins up or down as needed. This adjustment might help. On my coupe the passenger side needed to go a little lower, so I cut more threads on the pin to make it lower. That was the ticket and now both sides are perfect.

Also, adjusit the post down a little at a time. If you go too far, you could put the hood in a bind and it will be very difficult to open.

If you find you needed to go so low the hood won't close, you will need to modify the castillated adjustment nut. The elevated castle tips need to get ground down for the extra clearance needed. I needed to do this to get the extra 1/16" needed for perfect height alignment. Dave has good advice, go a little at a time and have a plan to pop the hood open if it sticks. A little muscle pulling up on the hood corner poped mine, but I don't have nice paint to protect.

Alright. I'll try adjusting the upper guide pin first a little at a time. How about at the front? I guess I need some shims? Where do I buy them?
