hi all,
Its a while since ive been on line, been busy with my dad back and forward to hospitals over the past year,
but these things  come to all of us,
any way
question
thinking about hot dip galvanising of my 79 c3 chassis.
anyone had this done or is it normal just to sandbalst and paint.
thanks again for all your help in the past,
should be active more over the next 6 months.
Ive promised my daughter that my vette will be finished to take her to her prom in june!!!
so i better get moving.

Blast and paint is normal.  But depending on condition you may want to media blast, not sand.   It depends on the condition and how much rust etc needs to be removed.   If you dip it the chances are it will last longer.  I would just be sure to put the correct finish over the galvanize to get the right appearance.    If you are going to expose the car to a lot of elements, the dip may be a good idea.

i was thinking of doing hot dip because of our varied climate in the north east of the uk,
ok its not an everyday car, and the car is garaged, 
The condition of the chassis is excellent at the moment,
so i would like to keep it that way,

Been there done that and it last a long time. The key is you must remove everything as the hot dip will melt it. This must only be done on a very good chassis.
