Hi guys, I'm now down to the final details of the resto. I have worked
on many GM steering wheels and was always sucessful till now. I can't
seem to get the horn buttom off so that I can paint the bezel ,etc. I
assumed that you just turn cc wise but no results. Does this require
lots of muscle or special tools?

Yeah, the button should just pull off. Disconnect the battery first, tho!
If that thing has been on there for a loooong time, without ever being removed, it may have some corrosion holding it on, but it will still pull off. Might need to persuade it with a screwdriver, wrapped with some tape(to keep from having any boo-boos).
