Vette(s): 1978 Corvette Light Blue Pulled from the swamps of Miami! Its a driver and back on the road!

ring my tech beeped the horn which works, but then the

horn button and corvette center fell off the steering wheel.  It was being held on by 2 pieces of electric tape??.  It worked for a good many years but with it sitting outside at the garage and the heat we have been having it finally came off.  Ok so what is the proper way to re-attach the 4 inch circle horn button to the steering wheel?

Thanks

Babyblue 78

Sorry about the spelling error.  When the tech pushed the horn button it fell off .

Personally, I'd go with some 3M double-sided tape. That stuff is usually super strong!

Vette(s): 1973 Orange Metallic Coupe (orig owner), L82, 4 spd (WR), PS, (A/C & PW (I installed from wrecked 73)), leather, AM/FM Stereo, ran with '65 FI unit earlier & will again some day. 2023 Accelerate Yellow HTC Stingray

While I haven't had mine off in a number of years, it seems like it had a series of spring fingers on the back side that snapped on. If those are missing, then you could just buy a new one. But 3M VHB tape will probably work also.  🙂

Mine has the spring clips, but the horn button kept coming off -- I use some blue LockTite on the spring clips and it holds great.  It takes a bit of prying to get it off again, but it does come off if needed.
