My problem is the opposite,when I hit a bump the driver side latch releases the hood. Tried to adjust the latch but still no good. It's a 69 convert all origianl.We call her LUCY,it's red

Luckily I haven't run into either problem (yet). If you've adjusted the latches with no success you might need to replace them or the pins.

I had a similar problem with mine.It looks like the hood release cable was a bit dry,there wasn't enough freeplay in the cable,and one of the bolts holding the release handle bracket was stripped.It was like having a hair trigger on a gun.I got around it by making sure I push the release handle all the way in once I've got the hood popped
