Hey Guys! Seen a few threads on hood latch mech's and one of them mentioned buying only OEM GM cable. I can't seem to find a Chevy parts house that carries these cables anymore. Most responses said it was a "No longer carried item". I know Ecklers has the aftermarket version but can anyone lead me to the OEM? Thanks!

I just bought one last week from the locale Chevy dealer. They had to order it. It took 24hours to receive. They are still making them. Who ever said they are not available are wrong. Try a different Chevy dealer.

The cable part no. is 473284. Like posted above it is still available but probably not stocked. If nothing else, check out GMPartsDirect.com. Listed for $26.51 but their shipping can be high.

My cable part #473284 as listed above cost me $43.21 plus tax. Twice what I would have paid for an after market one but well worth the extra, It fit perfectly.

At Corvette Specialties, we carry the GM cables. I just saw some
new ones come in this morning, in GM wrappers. If you can't find
them, call us a 763-784-8577, or e-mail parts@corvettespecialties.com

Its been a while but I saw where someone was using a cable from Lokar. It looked pretty good. Let me see if I can dig up the pic and I will add the link to it here.

Here is the link to the Lokar hood cable. Looks really nice in this car. The building is calling it "Frankensport".
