Can't find hood grill lock nuts. I tried some 1.59$ Lowes regular lock nuts, but they don't fit (too small or too big).
What does the original one's look like and where can I find them ?
(It is for a 74, as I think this hood grill was from 72 to 76).
Thanks!

I don't know if you can get them. The previous owner of mine used what look like home made ones. They are square and don't look orininal. I haven't tryed to look for them yet.

Go to Napa or Kragan and ask for trim retainer nuts, they have different types push on screw on etc, my hood grill had smooth pins that went through the hood, the nuts looked like a "tin nut" that cut threads as you screwed them on to the smooth pin, don't over tighten, they can strip or break off because the pins are soft. anips 38505.5924421296

Believe it or not - I did find some at: http://www.parts123.com/PartFrame.asp?ZTM=cadefghb&GHOME =www.riksvet.com&TITLE=RIK'S_UNLIMITED_CORVETTE_PARTS
(they are listed as trim nuts with the hood stuff)
I'm sure the other vendors have them as well. Just happened to have this one on my desk at work. I know nothing about these guys, but my guess is it will cost more to ship than what it's worth. You can always try home depot or your local hardware store.
good luck -

That's how I found the "lock nuts" at Lowes. Just didn't get the right one's I guess.
Will look at that site and maybe another trip to the local store.
Thanks!

Check with your local body shop. Many body shops stock these. And Body shop supply houses often stock them as well.
