The stock C3 alternator puts out 61-63 amps. I read as one of the recommended upgrades for classic cars is to add a high output 100-140 amp. alternator. I added dual electric fans to the radiator so I'm thinking this would be a good idea for my 79'.

Has any member done this and if so do you have a part number of the alternator that fits correctly?

thanks

I bought a 140 amp alternator from Summit Racing. This can be used either as a "1 wire," or standard GM type. It works fine.
Check Summit's site for the number.
