I am having trouble with my last dash pc removal on my 77 coupe. I have removed the upper dash pad, seats, center console, and all other interior pcs. I can't even see what I am supposed to unhook for the speedometer and tach. I have removed the ductwork, and dropped the steering column down couple inches as suggested in another link I read. (I am 6'5", so just squeezing under dash is a trick.) Do I need to remove the plate (4 bolts) that is above the steering column? I have a AIM now, but there are 3 or 4 different diagrams, and I don't know which one is mine. One shows "push on ferule at speedometer" does this just pull out, or is there screws, clips, nuts? |headscratch|

Push the speedo cable toward the gauge, depress the retaining tab next to it, and pull the cable off. If there is tension on the cable housing, you can't depress the retaining tab.
