Well the Colts beat the home team (they even broke our quarterback) so I needed to take out my frustration soemhow, so why not fix the guage cluster that shuts down when the headlights are on?

It's finally cool enough to work on the car so I grab my tools, drop light and wiring diagram and crawl into the vette to start working. Logic tels me to duplicate the failure before I take things apart so that I know what to look for.
GUESS WHAT!
The darn car isn't broken anymore. I fixed the guage problem by cussing and threatening.
Man I feel good! At least until the silly thing breaks again.

wonder if you had a bad ground somewhere. maybe something in the switch
got screwy (tech term here) and when you turned on the lights maybe
cleaned a contact. hope it stays working for you.
