Vette(s): 1978 (25th Annv. Edition)Red, Black interior, 4-Speed Transmission, L-82, Power & Air, Very Rare Option Package(Only 145 Red 1978s with a 4 speed trans) & Very Original Car, with original Window Sticker, Bill of Sale and all documentaion.

When starting my 78 after winter storage a strange thing happened. As soon as the car started, the headlights went up with both switches that control the vacuum assembly in the off position.

Then while he car was running and after working the switches the assembly would not go back down.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Any ideas on the what the cause may be?

The headlight switch was replaced last summer and has worked flawlessly since. Needless to say this was a suprise!

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

J.D. Grant

All is well now!

It turns out that I had a pinched vacuum line.

Everything works as normal!

Glad it's okay.  Where was the line pinched?

I just read the other thread.  Got it.

The pinched line was near the hood support. Apparently when I took off the hood support to clean it I moved the line and pinched it.

I am very happy that it was a simple fix!

Thanks for your help!
