I have a 79 and I am having issues with my headlamps not flipping up. Sometimes they do work sometimes im pulling them up manually. Any idea where to start looking for problems?

It could be the actuator rod seal. They deteriorate over time.

The vacuum system which operates the headlights is a fairly complicated system. You need to look at each component to see which ones are the major problem. Usually you will find that there are several of the components working together, or should I say, not working that cause the problem. i dont think so, the vacuum line that was disconnected was up near the headlights. But im still trying to tie up all the lose ends.
