Vette(s): 1975 Yellow convertible

I have a '75 convertible with hardtop.  I don't know the best way to install the hardtop securely or if I am missing key parts.  The hardtop has two threaded bolts that fit into the two holes where the ragtop locks in, but nothing else is on or with the bolts.  It doesn't have a "catcher" at the end like the ragtop has that locks in place and can be released with the inside handles.  I bought two large washers and two wingnuts and I use those, but it was VERY HARD to put those onto the posts without removing the plastic interior housing panels, which in turn required removing door jamb parts.  Does anyone have any tips for me?

Hello, Not sure if the 75' is the same as 72', but there is a "U" type piece of metal that goes on the bolt, and the washer and nut is threaded on it. Mine also has a bracket that bolts to the body where the convertible top bolts to secure it. Yes, you have to remove the door jam fiberglass/plastic parts to attach it. The same attachment points are used on the windshield header for each top. Parts may be found in any of the Corvette suppliers catalogs. OR if you can locate a assemble manual, AIM, it will show instructions.

Thank you manchestershark for the helpful info.  I just had an epiphany to look at the owner's guide (duh!) and it said the following:  "The optional removable hard top is attached at eight points all reached from within the car.  The three header latches are released by pulling down on the handles.  The two mounting tab attaching bolts are located below the lower front corners of the rear window.  Finally, the three rear bow attaching studs are released by removing the retaining nuts beneath the compartment lid.  When installing the hard top, be sure all attaching points are secure."  So it seems I am missing some parts, and still have some confusion.  It doesn't say anything about having to remove the door jambs and plastic/fiberglass housings as a part of the process.  I'll have to look again to try and find the missing parts online somewhere.
