Curious. Since the internal cylinder can't spin free inside the housing, you have to wonder what's holding the door closed. With the help from my brothers here at the forum, I've only just discovered how to remove the cylinder from the housing but can't really imagine what's going on there without messing with it
. I'm sure our members will have some thoughts on the matter but till then, I'll fiddle with one and see what I might find and report back.

OK, i think whats happening is .... the whole in the door where the lock goes has a notch so when the lock is held in place with the nut that threads to the lock is torqued down, it will hold the cylinder in place. what i think happened is the nut is so loss that the tab on the cylinder os out of the notch. you might have to remove the cylinder off the and tighten everything up. does it spin when the glove box door is open or closed?

Insert the key into the lock. Hold the cylinder with a small screwdriver, door should open. As a last resort you can use a BFH !!!! lol
