Pulled from the swamps of Miami!
Its a driver and back on the road!
I think this was on a thread recently but will check I have a 1978 and about 2 years ago replaced the lock on the glove box. I think I bought it from zips, I will be calling them but the same thing happened to this lock as the old one. It is tight for a while but then some gap comes between the inside cylinder adn the outside key face and it just spins and will not stay tight. I want to crank it up with pliers or try to unscrew it but don't want to break it if I can prevent that. Any help on how this is really suposed to stay tight and not loosen up... Thanks hate to buy a new one they are not cheap????

Yup...what he said.
We don't use "avatars" here, so you will not be able to insert one on the left side, where the member info is, if that's what you are wanting to do with that.
Your sig pic is working.
Anytime your update, or change the info in your profile, or sig area, be sure to click on the "Update info" button at the bottom of the page. If you do not click that, nothing will change.
Sorry I can't help on the glove box lock thingy...I bet someone else here has the skinny on that, tho...

You can tighten the lock housing well enough without breaking it. I have to tighten mine every so often. Maybe try taking the lock assembly out so you can get familiar with how it mounts - kind of hard for me to explain in an understandable way....Sorry!

Thanks aceinthe hole, I tried to tighten and will not turn like wise I tried to back it off and affraid the fron chrome key slot will give way. It just seems like a washer thickness would prevent it from being loose. Thanks BB78
