glass t top fit?

two weeks ago I brought a set of glass t tops and while attempting to put them on my 78 I found that one side just will not snap into place I tried adjusting the latches but no sucess! Also I brought them off a person I met a vette show any suggestions out their?

Are you adding/removing shims that will enable it to fit on??? Also, is there new weatherstripping on the tops? Sometimes you need to remove more shims for the top to initially fit on with new wthstrp..

Im on my second set of glass t-tops,I broke one ,when I was sliding it into the notch, before you do anything ,loosed all the locking latches and the tabs,where it fits into the middle section of the top, you have to take off the little plasctic covers on the tabs,loosen the tabs,loosen everything,then put the t-top on ,have someone press downward while your inside re-aligning the tabs and the locking levers . I was lucky I just purchased a mirrored glass set at the Englisgtown,car show , swapmeet here in New Jersey , for $350.00 ... You should get a painted set as a back-up,if you break one ,Luckly my classic car insurance covered it !!

thanks guys i try all and any suggestions they broke on yoy once yikes! I'll be super careful on my next try 350 for a set that was a great price!! I'll be getting some help thurs am and let anyone know how i made out thanks and keep those suggestions coming in save the wave!
