Going over my car and finally starting to think about paint, i noticed the bonded area between the headlights and the hood has separated.

What's involved to correct this problem?  I'm assuming the whole headlight assembly and valance has to be removed.  Does the crossmember bolt in the frame?

Probably won't try this one myself so I'm trying to figure out the process and cost estimate for a body shop to do as part of paint.

Any comments are appreciated.

Sounds like you are referring to the header bar. It is glued to the underside of the surround panel. It does not bolt to the frame, but your headlight mechanisms are bolted to it.
