|wavey| everybody My 74 came with a new front bumper but no retainer kit. I was just on Eckler's website & found that the kit has been discontinued. |sad|

Does anyone know where I might be able to find another kit?

You may have to go used. I just found out this weekend that Chevy (ac Delco) quit making the power window relay for the 77. These cars are starting to get old and I think were going to see alot of discontinued parts more and more.

Thanks for the help everybody.
A friend on another forum gave me some good leads too.
Here's what he said in case anyone needs these parts as much as I do.

 I don't know if they are still available from GM, but here are the O.E. part numbers;

331843 L/H Outer
331844 R/H Outer

331839 Upper
331840 Lower

Try this link, I believe they have what you are looking for.

part no. 28998 L/H ret. $23.00
part no. 28999 R/H ret. $23.00
part no. 28993 lower ret. $55.00
part no. 28990 upper ret. $46.00

These will work best with a 'glass bumper, but not so well with urethane. The replacement retainers I got for my '74 were the later style, and would not work at all on mine. I had to use what was left of my original retainers. If you have the originals but the studs are twisted off, you can knock them out, drill the hole larger, and use a 1/4" nut & bolt setup. This way the retainer still spreads the load across the length of the bumper, and holds it to the body. If you have a 'glass bumper cover, the stainless pieces listed above will work just peachy, but for the urethane covers, you really need the support the retainers provide.
