The fiber optics system is really very simple. If the indicator is not working they are easy to troubleshoot.
Headlights: you must have original style headlights such as the T-3. These have a nipple in between the electrical connection. Halogen and later bulbs do not have this glass nipple (approx 1/2" long and 1/8" diameter)which is the light source.
Turn Signals: Each front turnsignal and the outer rear turnsignals have a hole in the reflector portion of the light. Inserted into this hole is a yellow and red (respectively)lense (1"long, 1/4" diameter)that the fiber optic cable fits into.
Center Console: The Fiber optic cable then comes into the car at the center console. There is a plastic lense assembly that attaches to the bezel. This is usually the root of the problem as the lens gets brittle and breaks over time.
Fiber Optic Cable: Typically not the problem. Usually, a failure is caused by an idiot mechanic
cutting the cable
when he/she does not know their purpose and needs them out of the way. (I saw this just after it happened on a 70).
There is a vender for the cable and replacement parts. It may be Lectric Limited.
Good luck
Alex
