I am currently trying to do a chassis detail on my '70 coupe. Will not do frame off until really needs it down the road. Just cleaning up surface rust and reworking trailing arms & differential etc.

Question is, all the fasteners and removable chassis items have been bead blasted & painted items refinished. Still have to figure out what fasteners are Cadmium, Black Phosphate, etc., and whether there are small home version plating kits available.

Trying to follow originality if possible. Any experience with id of proper finish of fasteners and applying the plating would be greatly appreciated.

I know that Eastwood has a plating kit for home use. I am pretty sure it was intended for Cad plating.

Hello,
If you need info as to what the proper finishes are, a NCRS manual will help you. They are a great source for the restorer.
Good luck,
Tom
