The paint on my car is not bad, however I've seen other cars that seem more shiny than mine. Will an extra layer of clearcoat restore or bring more shine to my already existing paint job?

Vette(s): 1979 Coupe THE DIVA color: BLACK
Here we go again.....
ZAINO!!!!!
Seriously...sounds like you just need to give the paint a good cleaning...mild dish soap and warm water to get off all old wax etc etc..
then start from scratch.
Hubby actually wet sanded his '94 completely ( lightly ..NOT thru the clear coat!!!!)...then did the Zaino steps.
What a difference!!!!!!
I am sure you could do it with any step cleaning/waxing system...(IE: Meguiers)

There is a product from Auto Magic which is a Clay Bar that is less abrasive than wet sanding and does a good job. Do what Rose said wash the car with dish soap then clay the car and apply a good quality wax. It should solve your problem.

I agree with Debbie.....Zaino
Go look under the Tools tab and into "tips & Tricks" I posted there bout a "starter" kit for Zaino. They also recommend a clay bar treatment too
