Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I know that others have had this problem so it should be easy to fix Big smile

The charging light on the center console is always on.  It is faint enough that you cannot see it easily during the day.  I have had the battery replaced and they checked the voltage at the battery and it is 13 plus volts.

I would guess that would indicated that the rectifiers in the alternator were good.  Which would have been my first check.  But now I'm not so sure.

The light is turned on by the regulator in the Altenator. Disconect the plug on the altenator while the light is on and see if the light goes out, if not it would be in the cluster, most likely the Alt.
