driving me nuts on my 81

My interior lights worked fine, I removed the old light and replaced them with blue neo and new i cant get them to turn off  ?????  why its still a 12v light

The '81 should have a timer for the courtesy lights. Are you allowing it to "time out"?
What kind of bulbs are they? Your post says "neo"....short for "Neon", or are we talking about something else here? Are the bulbs direct replacement, meaning no wiring, just plug right in?

yes neon, and i removed the original socket  and wired  the new 12v neon ,

not sure but if the light you installed is not an incandescent bulb it could change the current in the system and effecting your courtesy light timer operation . I believe that the timer works like the flasher if you put led lights in they effect that operation.

Ya...Imma tinkin the same ting...not enough "load" on the circuit to tell the timer that the lights are even on. You may need to add a resistor in there somewhere.
Did the new neons come with any instructions/info?
