My drivers door hold open spring broke a couple weeks ago. I ordered another one and the installation tool. I finally got around to installing it today. The new one came without any instructions at all but thanks to instructions in an earler post in this great forum, I managed to get it installed. The old one had broken on the bottom bend and was a ROYAL PITA to get out. While fishing out the old one, I didnt realize the broken tail of the old srping was scratching the crap out of my door paint. Just a word of advise for those who replace one of these things in the future, mask the outside surface of your door in the area of the spring before starting this repair. Now to see how many of the scratches can be buffed out... GGGrrrrrrrrrrr

That's a great tip Chip. This type of advice
is what makes this site such a great asset for C3 owners. Sorry for
your misfortune but thanks for the advice.
