Tb2k82CE, the mosture barriers from Midamerica are a thick gage plastic and cut to shape with all the wholes cut for door hardware and screws. I don't have anything else to compare them with; but I was impressed with them.
Do you recommend purchase of plastic door barrier or just use some type of plastic cut to fit?
You can use a heavy gauge plastic that you can find at most home improvement places, but the pre-formed/cut ones are easier to install....especially if yer lazy like I am!
Either will work just as well. It all comes down to how much time/patience you have.

I used paper to make a template of the door moisture barrier and bought 'Reflectix' at Lowes or Home Depot. Did the finish trim to size with a cutting knife and used the caulking rope. I could not find it at Napa but did find some that worked at ACE Hardware. Here is how it looks. It will be a moisture, sound and also insutation improvement.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Anyone know of a downside to using 'Reflectix' seems like a good idea.  The only thing I can see is what does it do to the inside door trim?

I used the same stuff to insulate my floors and firewall inside  .. really cut down on heat from engine and exhaust...with the old jute backing... before wife couldn't keep feet on the floor... now much better.... may not be as good as high dollar insulation but worked for me...
