Jerry, If you are going to replace the upper why not do the lower at the same time, two pins and four bushings. The ware should be the same..I took off my doors.. spielman538791.7927430556

You will need to pull the pins and and move the door out a little to get to the bushings. You may need to file a flat on the side of the top pin head. This will give you clearance to get the pin past the fender. Do all four bushings while your at it. Also have a friend or two help you handle the door so you don't nick the paint.

I'm stealin these!!!

Suncountry has the hot tip there, with the flat on the pin. Have a jack(or a tireless friend) help hold the door up, cause it will take a few minutes(at least!) to do the hinge-pins. A towel at the front fender/door area will keep from scratching either of them if the door gets away from ya.

Glad to see some scoop on the droopy doors. My driver's door is in bad need of something. I have been planning on hiring the job done at the dealer.

How much of a pain-in-the-butt is the job??? If not too bad I just might make it a DIY task....

I wouldn't consider it a pain. If you're halfway handy and know a socket from a bench vise, you could handle the job.

I guess I qualify... but my bench vise is too small to hold my 'Vette while I pry the door off.......
