Dome Light Stays On

The dome light and courtesy lights on my 79 stay on
engine off
lights off
doors closed
any easy fix or am i correct in guessing that one of the door jam switches is shot and has to be replaced.

It's probably the courtesy light timer.  It could be near the fuse box but most likely behind your glove box.  They're available as reproductions but are pricey.  It's a flat, orange box that the light harness plugs into.

There is a way to bypass it but I've not tried it so don't really know if it actually works. If you want, I'll find the info. ZIP shows it in their catalog, I think about $80!!
