Do you mean going from points to electronic in older dizzies which is good,
But I assume you mean the "brain" in the HEI it boosts the dwell, but for the whole package you need the meaner coil and better wires to handle the juice,
Some companies sell this as a kit, IMHO I think it's very much worth the $$$
