Vette(s): 1972 Stingray 4spd Ontario Orange on Black Presently undergoing complete body off started 11/03 and ongoing. Restoration completed July 30, 2006
Can someone be so kind as to reveal the secret in detaching this gizmo on a 72 coupe. I would much appreciate the help. TIA!

The switch is molded onto the shaft and the only way to remove it is from the backside of the switch. there is a small pin on the top that when depressed will release the shaft so you can pull it out the front. It is hard to see but can be done by pulling the dash panel forward and reaching back to the switch.
