Yikes!Help! My first post..so bear with me. |grrr| Went to take the 'ole girl outta the garage for a spin this AM & turned the ignition key and she started to start, then nothing. I have brand new starter/Optima battery etc. & the wires to the starter & starter solenoid have occasionally loosed, so I disconnected the battery and went to tighten the nuts. In this process a wire and connection to what I think is the E.S.C. sensor popped loose. I think this controls the secondary cooling fan, but not sure. The aluminum box-like connector appears shot, as it won't connect properly & I assume it needs replaced. I've searched through several catalogs and can find nothing of the sort. ANY IDEAS? As far as the starter is concerned, I think it just got stuck in an odd position, as a couple of light taps witha rubber mallet and she started right up! |laugh| Any suggestions on this connector for the ESC unit would, like, float my boat! Thanks!

|eek| Well..I found out that ESC stands for "Electronic Spark Control" and this is a "knock" sensor and has nothing to do with the cooling fans! But rather is a sensor that adjusts timing electronically. There is a connector available, but it does not look like the original on an '82(about $18) The ESC sensor itself($105) FYI.....any further help would still be appreciated! Thanks, Rich. |cool|
