Thanks for the info JR!

I won't need the dated top either.  I do need to replace just about everything, so I'm going to get the same kit you purchased.

The pictures will help a great deal.  I can send you my home email if that would be easier than downloading them to the site.

Have a great weekend, and good luck with the frame.

Bryan, here is a good guide.  I will send you some pics along the way.

Spent the day removing the old top.  Lots of screws rusted to the point that I had to drill them out.  The tension cables are broken, not sure what I am going to do about that yet.  The tack strip on the #3 Bow is very thick, twice what comes in the restoration kit, I guess I will use some cardboard or something to shore it up.  I will post some pics tomorrow after I remove all the rust and paint it.  Then you can compare some before and after.  It really doesn't look too hard to install the top, the frame work is pretty rough, but I guess I will see.

Thanks for the update JR.

I do have two questions:  First, what kind of adhesive are you using to secure the top, and second, what kind of staples?  Are you using a regular staple gun, and if so, what size are the staples?

Good luck with the frame!

The adhesive is 3m Super weatherstrip adhesive.  The staples go into the tach strips and hold the straps, pads and the front and center of the top to the frame.  I am not sure what size I am using, I will update you tomorrow.  I have one of those heavy duty upholstry style staple guns, makes it easy.

I was wondering the same thing Bryan. I'm going to Fayetteville tomorrow to the Dogwood Festival car show and was gonna check out JR's new top but he's been MIA for a week now.

Well Jim, if you see JR say hi for me, and find out how the top is coming.  I hope the silence doesn't mean there's problems.

Have a great time at the festival.

Hey, got the top on, after a few minor issues.  I did take some pictures, but for some reason can not seem to upload them.  It came out pretty good.  It is not perfect, but my car is a driver, not a show winner.  No wrinkles just that my rear molding above the window is a little off on the right side.  My wife never even noticed but I can tell.  Bryan, if you have an e-mail, I could send you a series of photos and go into detail on the one are that no one covers on instructions, the weatherstriping.
