Got my tack strip kit in, I noticed on the rear, or highest bow, the replacement strip is not thick enough to fit flush with the top?
Can I just use the old rubber one as filler ? new one is fiber board.
When I stripped the rubber one off, there was fiber board underneath it, as filler.

I think most of them are made by the same people..
corvette central has a package deal that includes everything you need to do this.. Part # 133663, its a kit with new top, straps, weatherstrip, etc..
three other items you dont necessarily have to replace but is a good idea.. get a screw kit (#543007)and get new tensioning springs (543009) and new roof panel guide bushings (543025)

Sounds like ben's been there! A new top is on my wish list too. Believe it or not, the top I have now is the original top. Still works, but not real pretty after 36 years.
There's a decent article in the most recent Corvette Fever about top installation.
Anybody here been brave enough to tackle your own top? I'm probably gonna try mine by myself, I've done most of the other work on it, so what the heck?
