Paste this link in your browser window. It's a whole page on code 43. BTW, it's usually a bad knock sensor or ECM failing.

Its really simple Scott.  All you do is when you go to a site you want to link, you just copy the address line up in your browser.  Paste it in your post and add URL in brackets.  Heres an example below.

[url.]http://www.VetteRegistry.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=69035[/url.]

Leave out the periods I add to keep it from become an actual link.

If you leave the periods out it works looks like the below link.

watch these codes. some codes for the corvette are not listed. if you get the haynes manual they have all the codes listed in it. just don't want you pulling your hair out if it shows a number that's not listed.

Here's a couple of pages of GM bulletin concerning code 43. It can be a false code, depending on WHY it set. I've seen more issues with wiring on ESC/EST codes than anything, but I did have to replace the ECM in my 'Burban for it.
Hope this info helps in the diagnosis.

Micki, (and others) please do NOT attempt to "scan" your '96-newer cars with the method described in the above link. Can you say, "OH S$@%!!, I fried my ECM!!!" ????
'96 and newer vehicles need a dedicated OBDII scanner to get codes out of the many modules. Adams' Apple2007-05-09 05:02:33
