I did it to my '69. I wouldn't do it again. I'd have it media blasted. It's messy and foul smelling. I used Dupont liquid stripper. The problem you have to watch for is where the various parts are bonded together, as the stripper can remove filler, at least that's my experiance with chemical strippers. Like I said, I'd have it media blasted or if I had to sand the whole thing by hand.

If you choose to use stripper, get a good quality automotive stripper that WON'T remove the primer.  That way, the filler, bonding agents, etc. stay intact.  In the long run the job is much easier than with strippers that remove the primer.

I recently saw an Overhaulin show that used baking soda as media for taking the paint off.  Less abrasive and it did a great job!  They did it in a parking lot outside the shop.

Has anyone ever seen this in person?
