Cheap Paint Job

I just bought a '72 Chevelle. After getting a couple quotes on paint and body work, I ended up taking it to my local Maaco. They are doing the bodywork and paint for 2 grand. Their "standard, top of the line" paint job is advertized for $900.00 and guaranteed for 4 years.
I doubt you will find anything much less expensive than that, but like everyone says, you generally get what you pay for. A $5000.00 paint job worth $5000.00 is gonna cost $5000.00.

I agree that the paint is the least of my worries right now. My 81 runs great, but the paint is 3 shades of yellow. The body is one shade, the front & rear bumpers are another and he hood is a little lighter. I have done the front suspension over. I've tuned the motor and gained alittle power. I've put new shoes on it. I have to do the interior and finally I'll get around to the paint. If I put a $5000 paint job on it I will be afraid to drive it. Right now I'm having to much fun with it.
