Vette(s): 1977 T-Top Coupe, Black with Buckskin Interior. Restored.

I just completed the interior resoration on my '77. I had ordered the carpet set through Eckler's but it came from Auto Custom Carpets. I was very satisfied with the fit of all of the different pieces and the quality. I ordered a set of floor mats through Corvette Central and they came from Auto Custom Carpets, also. Again they fit great and the cuality was good.

When it comes to interior parts like carpeting and upholstery kits, most of the resellers all carry the same thing.  I've bought interior door panels from Corvette Central and they were marked "Corvette America"...and the cost was less than from Corvette America.

Even upholstery shops buy pre-fabricated carpet kits from the big resellers to install unless you wanted some nonstandard color or fabric.

I would find the best deal from a good supplier...check to see if the carpet specs are the same...and buy that.  I would also get a good heat resistant base to lay under the carpet.

Best tip I can give you that I found out the hard way was when making a trim cut always make sure of where to cut it and then leave more......you can always make second cut to make it just right....cut it too short on the first try and Cry

I got mine from Wilcox, they were fron Corveete America but the price was better than Corvette America. The quality was great, fit great also.
I used the insulation material from Lowes, about 1/8" thick, silver color, worked great and was cheap.
Good luck,
Dave

Got mine from ACC - best color match (my interior is Saffron/Mahogany which is an odd color) we had gotten swatches from MAM, CA & ACC.  ( I also have custom floor & cargo mats from MAM.  Very good quality carpet, even though color is a tad different - worth every penny)Heat barrier was same as DaveM - it's insulation from Lowe's - like bubblewrap between two sheets of silver mylar - very satisfied & easy to install.  Cuts easily & used real aluminum duct tape to connect pieces & secure)  Also, Dan's right - be careful where/when you cut the carpet....I had several spots where I thought I would need to trim, but I waited until I was completely done & only had to trim one spot. Smile

When I had the carpet, both front and rear and storage panels done, I had Mike Yager at MidAmerica do it.  I had won a $500.00 gift certificate there and that paid for the carpeting so all I had to pay was for the install.  If you want to see, I can send you pictures.  I would recommend MidAmerica for carpets and install.  I figured it to be a PITA job to do so I let others do it>  Ya, thats the ticket, Delagate!!
