I glued some pieces of carpet to the 3 door rear compartment doors and it did not go well the first time. I used the 3M brand and it did not stick to the wood board and the carpet very well. Pulled it off and tried again.

The second time I sprayed it on heavier, let it set up a bit, then installed with weight on top to press the pieces together.

The new carpet underside is so smooth and shiny the glue seems to not adhere very well, as it comes off pretty easy.

Any suggestions for the rest of the car, the seats and everything is out. I did clean the car well and then used acetone to clean off any oily stuff.

Hi, In my "Opinion" only, it's best to order new door unit with correct carpet, locks, doors, and pulls. Much nicer job, faster and more gratifying.

You could check with an auto shop that does carpet and upholstery or a carpet store and see what they would recommend.

Did you take the plastic surround piece off? I would think that piece would make the outer edges more secure, and keep the pieces secure. Also, the button and pull would be additional assistance in holding it in place.
