Hi All,
So I started the interior renovation on the 78 and as I was taking the carpet out of the back I noticed it was just shoved up under the trim. I thought I read somewhere there are supposed to be clips above the back wheels somewhere where you anchor the carpet to? Was I dreaming or are mine missing?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
BW

I don't think so, but I'm not all that familiar with the big winder cars!
Most of the cars do have rubber "plugs" that hold the carpet up on the rear bulkhead, but the rest is just held by the trim-work, and adhesive.

None on any of the 68 - 77 C3's that I've piddled on had them. None on the C4's 84 - 96 that I have jacked around wit either. They (da C4's) do have a plastic push pin that pins the moldings and carpet in place in some areas.
All of the onez Ive seen have tucked da carpet up neatly behind a trim piece which makes it great for installation.
I can check an 81 ta-marrie if'n ya need some confermation...Tuxblacray 2007-04-14 20:30:12

Be triple sure of the fit and placement before you spray any adhesive

Just finished one of the '78s but it was gutted when I bought it. Didn't see anything to make me believe it used clips to attach. Managed anyway, but mine are not show cars, strictly for drivin'.

Brad use automotive grade 3M Spray On adhesive. Spray 1 side, push carpet back and forth into it as it is getting tacky then push on firmly. It works pretty good and it is forgiving if you hafta remove it later.
