Hi Guys,

I have just finished laying the AC Carpet on the floor boards for a test run. Looks great but I have a question.

My 70 did not have original carpeting and when I took the seats out both mounts were attached through the carpet with the tracks on top.

The AIM seems to show the front of the seat track under the carpet and the carpet has two pre-cut openings in the front that would further indicate that the front of the track goes under the carpet. What is correct?

Do front and back mounts go under the carpet? Does just the front go under the carpet and the back mount sit on top of the carpet? Do both front and back sit on top of the carpet?

It looks to me like the front goes under and the back of the tracks sit on top.

Thank you,

Bill

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
When I replaced the front carpeting I remember the front brackets had the carpet cut around so a flap would hide the bolt head. I was lazy and in a bit of a time crunch so didn't cut the new stuff.

I don't remember how the rear brackets were. The old carpeting was in such sad shape that I tossed it so don't have it for a reference.

Vette(s): 1981, Black/Black, Engine bumped to about 400HP.Ext/int mostly stock.
My original '81 carpet has cut-outs/flaps to allow BOTH from and back mounts to bolt directly to the floorboard, with no carpet between.
