Vette(s): 1974 Black 454 Stingray coupe, turbo 400 tranny, barry grant 750 carb, hooker super competition headers, moves along!
i finallly made it back home and tried unhooking the two wire connection from the alternator, and sure enough the car shut off, i suppose i can't leave it unhooked because it won't charge the battery?? Anyway, so now it's a resistor problem?? Any help would be great. Thanks guys

The problem is in the dash. If you want to cheat for the time being install a 194 light bulb in the small wire to the alt two wire plug. It will act as a charging system light and will stop the problem. This is temporary, but will solve the problem for now until you can get into the dash.
