I recently retrieved my 68 L71  from the shop where they installed the carbs after a trip the the Holley Custom Shop (great work) for restoration. Well, I now have vacuum and checked all the vacuum actuated components for the first time since buying the car in March. The wiper cover is in the open position, the wipers and headlights work. However, the threaded rod for the wiper door vacuum actuator snapped in half (apparently the door mechanism is jammed).

My question is can I purchase a new rod and repair the actuator or must I replace the actuator? If it can be repaired where is the best place to purchase the components?

Thanks.

Check out Mid-America, or Ecklers. They should be able to help you out. I belive you may have to replace the actuator. Terry
