Confused Hey guys, got a question about the power antenna. I have a aftermarket stereo and just curious as to how the antenna is engaged. I know that with the stock stereo in most cars when it is turned on the antenna deploys itself, but can anyone tell me if there is a wire to hook up and the color?. As always, thanks again for every ones time. Smile

Depends on the stereo. No destructions with it? Or did the stero come with the car, but the antenna just ain't hooked up?

Can you give us a description/ graphic of the wires/colors on the stereo?

Mine is on a toggle switch of its own. I like it better that way, does not have to all the way deployed if not wanted.  I also have after market stereo. I have trouble with reception, not sure if the antenna is not trimed or something in the mount is awray.  Cassette is used most of the time if we have it  on.  I ENJOY the MUSIC of the engine/exaust much more.

I'm about to put a CD player (compliments of my good friend and fellow C3VR member OSSW1/Dave) in the wife's '78. Never thought about the antenna hook up, but I really like the idea of a switch. Think I'll employ that method in this project. Thanks buddy, good idea Thumbs Up.
