My horn button is broke!!! I really slammed on the horn the other day to let a crazy driver know that they almost hit me, and accidentally broken something inside the horn. The horn still works, but it just lays there on the steering wheel loose. Whenever I back down the driveway or hit a little bump, it will make contact and honk. It seems like the spring (if there is one) that keeps it in line and with tension broke. I really didn't see anything in any of the manuals or catalogs to help with this.

Any suggestions? I have a 78 silver anniversary.

You probably broke the plastic rivets in the assembly. There are 3 of them. Also, there is layered metal template like rings in there, that are like shims for the assembly. The major suppliers have diagrams in their catalogs. Go online to their sites, and get to the horn section, you should be able to see a schematic,
diagram. Easy fix if you have the parts.
Just pop the horn button off and take a look. Yes, there is a spring in there. All the way at the bottom where the contact is. It can be adjusted by changing the tension on it. |saluteflag| |cool| |saluteflag|
