Just installed and tried my new Accel 8mm spark plug wires.
After 10 minutes on the road, the car wanted to die; I had to keep the rpm above 3500 or on neutral at stop lights.....
Anyway, quickly went back to the garage and here it is; I burned 2 of them. They were sitting directly on the headers and I didn't put any boot protector on them.
Question(s) :
-can that be covered under warranty ?
-can I order only 2 cable ?
-are they usable or fried ?
Last question : I went from 7mm to 8mm; am I suppose to do the timing ? I felt like it was a little bit off.

Warranty? maybe, but probably not. Just depends on the supplier. After all, is appears to be "installer error".
Should be able to get just the two you need, from Accel.
Actually, it looks like you only need the boots. Is that the only part burned? If so, I would replace the boots, re-route the wars, and keep on truckin!
oh, yeah...changing the size of the wars will have no effect on the actual timing(ign).

Use some wire ties to hold them up and centered between your headers. Lace the wire ties together looks clean and will do the j.o.b.

I made the same dumb move on a set of wires I bought at Advance Auto Parts, where I am a regular customer. Six months after I bought them, I brought them in to check if I could buy just two wires. The guy behind the counter pulled 2 new wires out of a set and covered them under warranty.
That's one of the reasons I am an Advance customer...

Got them from Summit. I'll give them a call later today. I have nothing to lose anyway...
I was looking at their repair kit in a catalog. Not sure how I can remove the boot and put a new one. Is it only glued ?
Question about the boot protector; the metal ring is too small to go over part of the boot. Is it suppose to be like that ? You just push it in as far as you can and the metal ring will be sitting between the boot and the block ?

You can remove the boots by twisting, and pulling them off the wire, in most cases. A little soapy water will help. Some wires have the boots molded onto them, and they can't be removed. From the pic. you posted, yours look like they will slide off.
The "barrel"(metal ring) should fit over the boots, with a little room to spare. Your boots are most likely a larger diameter than original, and that is causing them to not fit nicely. That is, assuming you are using the orig. style "barrel" shields.
