I just purchased a bumperette for my 77. It fits on the front license plate and protects the nose. Looks very easy to install. Any comments about this part. I bought it from Corvette Central. |rollysmile|

Yep,I've seen them, and thought about getting one.I just wish the previous owner had thought to get one! |cussing| Because it looks as though it might have been bumped just enough to have spiderweb cracks on the nose, although there isnt any damage on the edge I can see.. |headscratch| Looks like in pics, the bumperette thingy is solid rubber?

Took all of 2 minutes to install the bumperette. Doesn't look bad and can prevent problems. It is solid rubber with a metal piece around the holes. Attaches to the license plate. I use mind with a license plate frame. Almost looks like it came with the car. You can see when by going on the Corvette Central website. |bouncy|

I have one on my '78. It bolts into the top two holes of the front tag and extends slightly beyond the front bumper, so it takes any minor shock before the car body does. I look at it as cheap insurance.

It only fits rubber bumper Sharks, not chrome bumper models.

How much are they? |headscratch| Sounds like every little bit of protection is worth it. |saluteflag|

Corvette Central calls it a "nose guard" (part #103409) and sells it for $49.95. Other suppliers have it as well for about the same cost. Their catalog says it fits '75-'82 model years.

As I said, I have one on my '78 and think it's well worth the cost.

Rubber seems to have become quite expensive these days. |biggrin|

I agree, rubber is expensive, but fixing and painting a bumper cost much more than $49.95.... good for those who can't judge distances in a garage.....I use the old 2 x 4 on the garage floor to stop me in time.......but the bumperette is that extra bit of insurance |thumb|
