Bonding compound?

Okay, i'm ready to "glue" my front clip to my firewall and wheelwells. Has anybody done this and if so, what type of compound did you use, and did it work well? I'm getting all types of names of adhesives from fiber-bond, 40-40,to varius 3M products. I don't want this ever coming loose. What did the manufacturer use because i had a fun time breaking it loose. Thanks again for the help guys. I'll have it done one day

Remember what fun you had breaking loose the old bonding paste? That was in 1975, think how much more advanced the bonding pastes are now. Virtually any brand will give you a bond that's stronger than the surrounding fiberglass laminate. Durabond, Delvobond, and practically anything 3M makes will give you a satisfactory bond, and it will last, as long as you follow the instructions to a T.

Just remember, prep is the most important step. Make sure your surfaces are CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!!!

Just make sure you are getting a panel adhesive! I went to a NAPA body supply warehouse, the guy really knew what I wanted! He came back with a small tube of 3M weatherstrip adhesive and just couldn't believe that wouldn't work.
Evercoat makes a vette panel adhesive too.
I used a 2 part tube mixed urethane panel adhesive on mine, it worked great, and it didn't shrink or bleed through the paint.
