Body Mounts

I was looking today for a new body mount kit for my 69. I was trying to find a polyurethane kit but no one seems to offer one. The only ones I could find were like the orginal from the factory. The one I took off my car were metal instead of even being rubber. Has anyone found a polyurethane kit for 68-72. It looks like for these years no one offers one or at least I haven't been able to find one. Any ideas???

These cars weren't rubber mounted until '73. You just have a thick aluminum spacer and shims.

Others have changed to rubber mounts on 68-72's so the poly mounts would work the same. Just order mounts for a 73 and put them in. http://corvetteforum.com/techtips/viewsubtopic.php?SubTopicID=210&TopicID=3

Do you know someone who has done this. I know the 73 kits have a flat cushion and the mate is more of an oval shape. Which one would go on top and bottom?

I was going to use them on my 68. Only 4 of the existing mount brackets would take the rubber cushions. I didn't want use half and half, so I just went back to the solid mounts. I'm not saying it won't work, I've heard of other people doing it. It looks to me like some of the mounts would have to be modified to do this.

The previous owner of my 72 went with rubber mounts (meas. 1.5"). Changed the whole look, with alot more frame peeking out from beneath the rocker panels. That, in turn, created a bigger gap between tire and fender, disrupting the stance. I'm currently in the process of returning to the solid alum. mounts. Anything that might change the original look, I'd be very careful with. Was that 0.02 cents-worth yet?

Thanks, and I will rate that more than .02 cents worth. I'll stay with the orginal ones. I already have enough issues with the wheel wells since the guy before me cut them.
