# 2 and # 3 spins and will not come out

head of # 4 broke off

also do I have to take the bracket with the springs off on the convertible deck to access nuts?

also do the # 2,3,4, bolts have nuts welded to the frame?

The #2&3 have nuts that are captured to the frame but once you try to turn the bolts the start to turn with it. I had to cut the heads off some of mine. I used a cut-off wheel in my air grinder to do that. The nuts to the #4 mounts are held in place by a metal piece riveted to the fiberglass and all ways break when you try to unbolt them. Look behind the wheel well for a recessed well and you will find the nuts. In both cases, the bolts usually rust to the body mount sleeve, which makes it a real bugger to get them out. You may need to cut the heads off them to get it apart. The same goes for the #1 mounts. Once the body is off the frame and setting on a dolly it will give you more room to work on them.

Thanks for the advice.
Is there any way to just raise the body up about 6" maybe in 1" incriments so I don't have to disconect all the items ( hose ,master brake, emegency break, etc...)

I have a convert and have heard that it could break in half or the nose will break off.

I had no intention for a frame off at this point, but the rocker channel is dictating what I have to do.

I just bought this car around 3 wks ago with the intentions of having it painted and misc minor things fixed that I could do myself.

Thanks any info is appreciated

Rick

If you can raise it an inch then, you can raise it a mile. If you want to fix it right you will need to pull it off. The issue of breaking it is handled by using a lifting strap on the body section and another on the nose. It isn't as hard as it sounds. Check my web site for a check list on what to look for.

I figure it to weigh around 1200#'s. Maybe less if you take the seats out.
