Ok guys someone tell me that knows, is it a common problem for the blower motor switch in the car to fail?
my blower motor works great given direct 12v current apparently I either have a switch problem or a wireing problem have not go tthat far yet, but was kinda curious if it was common place for that switch to die...

Mine only blows on high speed and continues to run 20 seconds after you shut off the car.

Well apparently its a fairly common problem, and man there is nothing I hate more then having to start digging around under the center console and taking off the side panels yyyyuuuuuukkkkkkkkk!!! My 81 also has electric mirrors but they dont work either, nor do my electric locks! well Im taking on one problem at a time, and right now I will need air for a Louisiana Summer, Anyone have any good suggestions on where to start on the Mirror problem??

Yes, the switch can fail. But I would first check the relay and the resistor on the outside A/C box and see if the relay is working or the resistor is burned out.

Ok where exactly is the resistor and the relay?? and I removed the ground as well as the power lead to the blower motor and checked with my ohm meter and had continuity there? seems like that may be a good indication one or the other has failed huh??

I'm with you!! Someone disconnected A/C and heater so it just blows air, and...uhm...all the duct work is gone...so that is a bit jive.
