Send any info on how the soda blast comes out, (if you do it), cause It's on my list of things to do. I should get thru this coming summer without a paint job, maybe not (I want a taller hood).

Here's a Corvette Forum thread you might be interested in. The guy is stripping his car with the razor blade method. It actually does work fairly well, although there are some who prefer other methods...

It does take a little effort to develop the technique.

Well, the body is all loaded up on a trailer ready to go to the media blaster hopefully tomorrow depending on how his schedule holds up.  Hopefully by next weekend I will have some pictures to post.

I got the body back from the blaster today, It looks pretty good theres a few old repairs that have to be fixed, and it is stil going to take a lot of surface prep to get it close to being ready for paint.  Click on the pick in my signiture for a link to a few pictures.  I didnt take as many as I was planning cause my camera batteries died, I'll add more later.  I ended up spending a little over 1K because the car had 4 layers of paint on it in some places and I also had them clean out the wheel wells and and firewall

Now that I am ready to start some body work, does anyone have a preferred filler that they use?  I am going to need quite a bit.

Any filling over 1/4 inch thick should be done with a fiberglass reinforced filler.  DuraGlass is one brand name.  It's strong and waterproof, but does not produce a super smooth surface.  On top of the glass use a lite filler, not a regular filler on top.  The lite is much easier to work with, and you can do a better job.  The Bondo brand is usually sold in retail outlets, but is difficukt to work with.  Stop at NAPA and get Cuz lite, or go to a pro supply and get one of their brands.

Mine was done with the razor blade & light sanding. Anywhere filling was necessary Duraglass was used. It's been a couple of years and several miles ago. I was trally happy with the results at that time.
I will soon be repairing some trouble spots that have arisen from the molded in bumpers but I knew these would eventually be saying hello to me.
